What You Need to Know About Me:: My name is Leslie, and I am the author of "How Ya Like Me Now!" My book chronicles my life as poor, black child growing up in public housing during the 60s and 70s in a small, close knit black community in NJ. I talk about the obstacles, the challenges, the pain, laughter, ups and downs of life in a family of 4 with a single parent mother from the South. I was a troubled child who had my first encounter with the juvenile justice system at age 13 stemming from a gang fight that almost landed me in a juvenile jail. I talk about the choices I made during high school that landed me in college rather than in jail, or on the welfare rolls as a teen mother.

I am using my book as a platform to encourage and motivate young people, particularly those at risk, and to minister to women.
