McNair said…: students love the work of maya angelou. i think her first book, i know why the caged bird sings, is a must-read classic. also, students love her poetry (but i'm not recalling any titles right now since i usually teach them in an anthology). and the autobiography of malcolm x is another book i feel students need to round out their education. i hope this helps. let me know if you add these titles.
