.. ____________________________________ Women and Retirement .. _____________________________________ _____________________________________ I'm with you on this issue, Americans need to save for retirement. Don't count on Social Security as your only means, if you do..., you loose ! _____________________________________ Thanks, Jo Ann! U make a lot of sense. I've lived paycheck 2 paycheck so long that i LITERALLY didn't have 6% to save! 100% of what I earned was necessary to survive the month. I have a new job now. I intend to put your common sense to use. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________
I need help in locating a group of publishers, editors, writers, that are hosting events in the Midwest. Please let me know of existing organizations that are putting together affairs similar to the Black Author Showcase.

Hi Jo Ann, I am not an expert on internet marketing. But I did attend several teleseminars on internet marketing, read articles and books, joined organizations and networked to get ideas. I recommend searching the internet for tips on internet marketing and subscribing to newsletters of expert internet marketers.
Also, anytime I heard about an event or promotional opportunity I participated, no matter how small. I hope that helps. Thanks.

My bio: Anita Diggs has worked as a book editor for Random House, Time Warner Trade Publishing and Thunder’s Mouth Press. She has lectured across the country on the topics of novel writing, book proposal development and how to get a literary agent. The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, C-Span, The New York Daily News have interviewed her. Columbia Journalism Review placed Ms. Diggs on their “The Shapers” list for the year 2000. The Shapers is a list of prominent New Yorkers who shape the national media agenda.

Thanks for the note. The easiest way to create an ebook is to convert your digital copy into a PDF file that can be read by Adobe Acrobat Reader or other compatible software. You then distribute the book electronically via email or by making it available for download. A popular free online tool called Doc2PDF is available at https://www.pdfonline.com/convert_pdf.asp or you can purchase a copy of Acrobat Standard or Professional--these applications are a little costly. The Acrobat products will ensure that you don't have issues with creating hyperlinks and bookmarks in your documents. If you want your book to feature clickable internet links, then hyperlinks will be important. Bookmarks allow the reader to mark his or her place in the text when reading from their computer. Neither of these features may matter to you much so the free option may be OK.

You mean an event for authors, that's a great idea. I wanted to do something like that. Have you heard about the Black Writer's Conference next year, I'm going to make it there no matter what. I went to a small event this year, even though it was small it was really nice, there were authors there I ha dnever even heard of but their stories were awesome.
