Toni Morrison Is Doing It..How About You? Would You Read A Book On A Screen?

Would you read a book on a screen? Some may say that they would never in a million years trade the intimacy and tangibility of an actual book for any type of electronic reading device. They enjoy having their senses satisfied; turning the pages, and smelling the paper. Others may argue that books aren't paper, print and binding. Instead they are the inspiration, ideas and concepts, love and labor of authors communicating with their readers. Paper is nothing more than the way many of those books are packaged and delivered. Tasha Martin, President and Founder of the SistahFriend Book Club and Dorothy Goins, the award winning and best selling author of A Woman Scorned joined me to discuss "Reading Books In Our Digital Age". Listen In, then share with us your opinion!

I really do prefer a printed book. I find that I can read longer in printed format than I can on the screen. Screen reading bothers my eyes after a while, but I've never had that problem with print. I tried reading Clotel (public domain) in its entirety off the screen. After a full month of stopping and starting, I finally gave up and ordered the printed book, which I was able to finish within 3 days. Plus, I can't curl up with my PC the way I can with a good old-fashioned printed book.
