Hi Amm :

This is just a heads up - A new company is starting in 2009.  It will publish novels for women over 40.  In other words, the main character has to be a female, over 40 years of age. She does not have to be black.   The writer's gender and age is not an issue.  All genres welcome:  general, mystery, romance,  historical, etc.  Write to Brenda Frazier for more information. Her email address is: writingtimes@aol.com

All best,
Anita

I have a close friend in Florida who had a home in Palm Harbor. I would drive her car and spend time in Tampa. In fact, my plane always landed in Tampa. I bet we have passed each other at times not knowing one day we would be e-mailing each other.--Blessings

Ann--I meant to mention that my great-great grandfather, Dr. John C. Whitlock was a slave-owner and had children by my great-great grandmother, Ms. Cornelia Wallis. I will open up your web site and see if I can get your e-mail to send you a picture of a woman who appeared in my window holding up her hand waving and standing behind my son whom my own grandfather, Charles D. Whitlock told me looked just like his father, son of a slave and slave-owner. It's like she is saying thanks to me for telling her story world-wide. My book has been read world-wide even by soldiers, women and men defending our country. Also Jerry Bruckheimer, film producer has the record number of international movie tickets sold--he helped Will Smith get started with "Bad Boyz"---Blessings--Charlene Hampton Holloway

I am so happy to meet you Ann. I sm on the board of the directors of the Arts Council here in Loisville. KY. We are always looking for talent from across the country. We are working on our 2009 calendar. Is your schedule too full for 2009? In KY we are now celebrating the bicentennial celebration of Abraham Lincoln, the nation's 16th president. My Caucasian great-great grandfather, Dr. John C. Whitlock, knew him personally. I would like to offer you a contract to perform here in Louisville, KY in March. Also I would like to know who I can contact to set up a book signing for my book since Jerry Bruckheimer is filming here in Louisville for a movie. If I could get enough books sold in Florida at a large event with enough sponsors, I would love to invite you to sit with my family during the filming of the movie coming from my publication, "Whitlock's Compositions" which is a MUST READ on my web site: www.charchet.com My younger daughter, Bonita, a graduate of U of L exactly 150 years after Dr. John C. Whitlock was just chosen one of the top 40 under 40 business people in the state of KY. She was the ONLY African-American female chosen. She is a licensed customs broker for UPS one of the sponsors of the movie coming from my publication. I can be contacted by phone (502)262-9030. I would love to come to Florida in the first part of December and bring a contract for your production to perform here in Louisville. let's keep e-mailing each other. I will be traveling to Atlanta to meet with Dr. Bernice King to complete a contract with her. She is reading the scripture in the movie and Pastor Rick Warren is praying during the filming of the movie. I have an entire section in our church for my committed friends and family members. Blessings---Charlene Hampton Holloway

Advice on Exploring Erotica in Your Writing

MediaBistro's Morning Media Menu had a conversation with author Jamie Brenner about advice for writers looking to explore this newly crowded genre. An excerpt from Brenner: My first erotic novel came out two years ago. The landscape feels completely different. There is not just the hope to reach a mainstream audience with erotic novel, but the expectation that success is reaching everyone, not just the genre readers. Fifty Shades of Grey really raised the bar for that. At the same time, working…See More
