ON-LINE FICTION WRITING COURSES
Contact: anitadiggs@aol.com
Course Descriptions

BEGINNING FICTION WRITING
For writers with no experience who are looking to learn the basics of theme, plot, characterization, pacing, plot, point-of-view, setting and tone.

INTERMEDIATE FICTION WRITING
For writers with some writing experience who are looking to learn more about what makes a story - “a story”. Learn how to manipulate the tools of fiction-writing (point-of-view, plot, characterizing detail, tone, etc.) in order to create whole and unique stories that engage the reader.

ADVANCED FICTION WRITING
Learn how to recognize the successful techniques in your fiction -- what engages the reader, as well as why and how that success was achieved. We will analyze the many choices (point-of-view, tone, characterizing details, pacing, etc.) a writer must make concerning structure, character and language.

NOVEL-WRITING
Examine structural choices specific to novel-writing (i.e., narrative drive or momentum, pacing, order of information, sense of place, beginnings and endings, continuity of voice and tone, etc.). We will also discuss revision, completing a manuscript and publication.
Each novelist is expected to complete at least three chapters of a novel by the time the workshop ends. Familiarity with elements of fiction writing (plot, conflict, point-of-view, tone, character development, etc.) is required.

NOTE: Each course is private (just one student working one-on-one with Anita Diggs) and costs $350.

HOW TO SIGN UP: Send email stating name, address, phone number and name of workshop to anitadiggs@aol.com

I published Favorable conditions with Publish America. The book just came out in Novembefr, but my experience with them so far is good. Go to their site and check the author message boards. I think that will give you a good idea of what working with them is like.

Hi Vinetta,
Thank you for those words of encouragement. I really received them and it was timely! Since writing my signature poem so many years ago; it has been exploited all over the Internet, even though it is copyrighted. Most sites list it as "author unknown." I've tried not to feel so bruised by that; but these are my people! Going back to school helped me redefine my priorities. I know that God will take me to my destiny, not man.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Getting thm keeps me focused in spite of the pressure. Besides, God did not bless me to live this long for me to give into the pressuring from those writers younger than me.

Yep, the power of "facts" on the internet. Ain't it grand? People take forwards as gospel. Do you all also believe that Barack Obama shouldn't be president because he's not an American citizen? It' says he's not on the internet! I kinda wanted this…
