Wesley Snipes is Headlining the African American Pavilion at BookExpo America coming to Javits NYC


Wesley Snipes is headlining BookExpo America’s African American Pavilion at the Javits Center in NY and word is he's bringing family and friends!

BookExpo America 2009’s African American Pavilion is coming to the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, May 28th thru May 31st.

Tony Rose, co-Founder and Executive Director of the African American Pavilion at BookExpo America announced today that award winning actor, film producer and martial artist, Wesley Snipes will be headlining this year’s African American Pavilion at the BEA.


Snipes is best known for his starring roles in numerous blockbuster movies such including Jungle Fever, New Jack City, Passenger 57, Money Train, White Men Can't Jump, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar and the cult classic trilogy, Blade.

It has also been announced that New York Times Bestselling Authors ZANE, Omar Tyree, Mary B. Morrison, Essence Bestselling Author and PR Maven, Terrie Williams, Essence Bestselling author, Brenda L. Thomas, Black Expressions Book Club’s Carol Mackey, Wade & Cheryl Hudson of Just Us Books, George Fraser, Max Rodriguez, Irene Smalls, Dante Lee and many more will participate.

A plethora of seminars are scheduled for the AAP/BEA including Marcella Smith, Barnes & Noble, How To Get Your Books Into Barnes & Noble, Malaika Adero, Up South, Inc., Voices and Visions of New American Dreams, Yvonne Rose, Quality Press, How To Self Publish Your Book, Herbert Harris, LifeSkill Institute, Inc., Wealth Building In Trying Times, Darnell & Therez Smith, Marketing Your Website, Thomas Joyner, Jr.; Wil LaVeist; Neil Foote; The Tom Joyner Foundation, How To Prepare For College, Presented by Tom Joyner, There will also be a series of celebrity book signings and giveaways. Celebrated author and publisher, Heather Covington, President and Founder of Disilgold will host the festivities.

Book Expo America’s African American Pavilion is the nation’s largest African American book trade industry show in the world. With about 50,000 people attending the BEA each year, at least 20,000 visit the African American Pavilion. It is an enormous marketplace where thousands of African American publishing industry professionals, influential exhibitors and book buyers form a community of unprecedented strength come together. It has been described as a family reunion of sorts.
