Agents of Literary Change

All around us,it seems, people are losing their heads about different situations that they put themselves in.The Tiger Woods and Senator Edwards scandals are classic examples of this. Not only are they freaking out,but so are their handlers, the media, and to a large extent, the general public. To me,it`s the danger of making people you don`t know, role models/ heroes.Falls from high places can kill careers and images. To paraphase the famous Kipling poem,"If"-"If you can keep your head while all others are losing theirs, you`ll be a man,my son". Funny, how we can get so caught up in our image and what we can lose...or gain, yet lose sight of our true selves. The mirror of our truth is not always a pretty reflection. Let`s wrap this up with a fable of sorts. A cute brown dog was walking down some railroad tracks. As he trotted along the tracks, his tail got struck in the track switcher and a piece was cut off. The dog turned and yelped, getting his head knocked off by a train going the other way. Moral of this story: Dont lose your head over piece of tail. Your boy,Tony
