The Black Bail Out

Greetings Family,

I am writing you to inform you that WTLZ Radio is launching an initiative called the Black Bail-Out. It is offered as a solution to the crisis we face as a family. Thank you for taking the time to read it.



The Black Bail-Out



Essentially The Black Bail-Out is a National Build Black/Buy Black Campaign, led by a national coalition of Black Church leaders. It is being presented as an alternative to allowing the further dissipation of our communities and our lives as the result of the current economic recession or depression.



The state of affairs in the Black Community requires a special intervention. Prayers and marches will not suffice. There is need for short and long range planning. Even President Obama has advised us that there are some things that we as citizens will have to handle. This is one of them. The government Bail-Out will not save Black people.



We cannot depend on the government to teach our children lessons that will empower them. There will always be a disparity between employment for Blacks and Whites. The government is not going to economically empower the Black Community. There is no program for that. That means that we must save ourselves.



President Obama has urged us to become proactive in doing what needs to be done. For African Americans an act of self-determination of this proportion has not been undertaken since the days of Marcus Garvey and the Blackstar Express. The time has come to learn from past mistakes and forge a plan that will alter the course of history for Blacks as a race rather than settling for a few handouts.



Blacks can become the largest employer of Blacks. We can learn to transfer wealth to the next generation. We can throw off the Rag of Consumerism and replace it with the Robe of Entrepreneurs. We can educate our children.



Nothing would be as effective as a Nationally united Black Church leading and working together to address the Black dilemma. The Black Church could use its immense collective wealth and influence to lead a Build Black/Buy Black Campaign. It could establish a National fund for Economic Development and Educational Initiatives.



The highly esteemed Dr. Claude Anderson and George Fraser of Frasernet.com have developed successful models for economic development that only need to be expanded and supported. Pastor Floyd Flacks of New Jersey has already proven that the church can be used as a base for economically developing a community. We must build Mega-communities rather than Mega-churches.



Dr. Anderson has given us an ominous prediction of what will happen if we don’t act now and act in a way that will get results. He strongly suggest that “Blacks will be reduced to a permanent underclass behind the Mexicans and the Asians with no escape and no recourse except to slip further behind until welfare and criminal activity are our main source of sustenance.”



At present we are mainly consumers totally dependent and not far from the condition voiced by Dr. Anderson. As Mr. Fraser tells us, “We cannot consume our way to power.”



Black Church leadership is the Black community’s only hope and by right should be the one to rescue it. The Black Church can attribute almost 100% of its tremendous wealth to the Black Community. Should not the Black community be able to turn to the Black Church in its hour of need? Should not the Black Church be accountable to the Black community?



What is preventing this history altering collaboration from taking place? What is it about church leaders that they would deny the community sustenance, did not Jesus stop to actually feed the hungry masses.



Today’s Black church could do more than provide a fish. It could put the people in the fishing industry and help build the restaurants and markets as well as finance the trucks that would bring the fish to market and then insure that the customers were there to purchase the fish. In doing so many jobs would be created and wealth as well. A class of owners would be established in due time. I ask again; “What prevents the Black Leaders and Church from executing this plan?”



The real answer is NOTHING!!!



I don’t want to digress to speculation as it is my hope that Black Church Leadership will step up and step forward and meet this challenge and arrest the dire conditions in the Black Community. I would instead encourage the leaders to consider the power of such an endeavor to return the hearts of the children to the Father. Confidence in church leadership would certainly soar as well as church attendance.



This crisis is in reality probably the greatest opportunity of the century for the church to demonstrate that the promises of God are real and that the faith and compassion of his people genuine.



Let’s not wait till next Xmas and Thanksgiving to think about the less fortunate. Let us instead work together to insure that we are giving the people more than promises that cannot be redeemed in this time of great need. Many leaders have been like Moses; laying down the law to the children of God. This is a call to those who would be the Joshua’s of today that will lead Black people into the Promised Land.



Let us take the reigns of destiny into our hands and chart a course to victory. There is no Freedom without Self-Determination. Freedom must be earned. We must become producers rather than consumers. The Black Bail-Out can empower the Black Community to establish black businesses that will in turn be supported by the black community.



Black mechanics, carpenters, roofers, plumbers, electricians, accountant, doctors, educators, restaurant owners, hairdressers and many others will benefit from the Black Bail-Out. We can stimulate our own economy by redirecting the dollars we are already spending; over 900 Billion dollar annual budget.



One last comment; certainly America owes the African American community a tremendous debt but would it not be wise to focus on our debt to ourselves and to each other? We can all rally around this cause in unity by making that united effort based on a practical and needed course of action. Don’t wait for Congress to act. Join this just and noble cause whose end is the resurrection of a fallen nation of people that in reality have much to contribute to humanity. The Black Bail-Out is for the Redemption of a Nation.

1) The Government Bail-Out will not save Black people.

2) This is a critical time in social and economic developments.

3) How can we expect someone to do for us what we refuse to do for our-selves?

4) There is no Freedom without Self Determination.

5) It is totally within our means; over 900 Billion dollar Black economic base.

6) We have more than 20 Billion Dollars in Intellectual Capital.

7) This is an Institutional as well as Generational Solution; which is the only solution for an institutional and generational crisis.

8) The National Build Black-Buy Black Initiative is the only viable solution on the table.

9) This is a vision we can all unite under.

10) Without a vision we will certainly perish.
