No Need To Apologize

My motives, through my writings, give an image with no explanation
Causing you to question my travels through life,
My background, learning experiences and occupation.

You felt I climbed the rope of success
Using the platform of the unfortunate's chest
The choices I made in life paved by way,
I learned to work hard, give back and understand the game's society plays.

You questioned my education,
"Why Prep School, College and continuous training after that?"
You had concerns about the occupation I shoes,
Though you hear me speak, you felt betrayed
You said, "I was the White Man's Tool, didn't I see the facts".

I didn't understand and after sitting and thinking it through
I have a clear understanding, and there's no need for my apology,
For what I do.....I do.

I choose to functional in this dysfunctional world.
I choose to touch the minds and souls of others,
Especially the young boys and girls.

I write and speak the words that stimulate minds.
I choose to work within the system, that's how I spend my time.
There are those who become a part of our worldly disease,
They look for short cuts, and other measures to fulfill their desires and greed.

They choose to become a part of the problem, a statistic,
And eventually are removed from the hood.
I refuse to apologize, when I work with the families of the so called, "Misunderstood."

While you and others are on your short bids, or state paid vacations,
I choose to confront groups and the community about your situation.

I speak to you, about you, and for you at work, and on the street.
And your concern is, what is my motive?
By speaking out I contradict the rules it is an apology you seek.

There's no need to apologize for ignorance continues to grow
Your choices put you where you are, brother and sisters seek your soul.

I made by choices in life to fulfill my needs.
My brother, my sister, an internal apology is what you seek.
