Love ain't that bad...is it?
How many times have you said "i love you" and you knew doggone well that you had more love for the piece of toilet paper you just flushed than you did for the person you just said it to?
Maybe you said it in the heat of passion. Maybe you said it out of guilt. Maybe you said it to be polite. Maybe you said it because you were standing at the alter in front of the the Pastor and two hundred and fifty guests, and "uh...I like you a lot" just didn't seem appropriate for the setting.
Maybe you've been infiltrated by the Jezebel spirit and you said "i love you" just so you can manipulate an unsuspecting fool into doing what you want them to do.
Maybe just maybe you said it because you really felt love at that moment...
Love ain't that bad...is it?
Scary Love.
Before I met "THE MAN", I used to always say to my sisters, "I never want to be in love. I ain't got time to be committed to nobody like that!"
Those words were the product of a young and inexperienced mind.
Yesterday I was in love with the same dude for twenty-two years. Today I'm in love with the same dude of twenty-two years. And if GOD sees fit to allow me to open my eyes to the dawning of a new day, I'll be in love tomorrow with the same dude of twenty-two years. Never say never. As Mint Condition said in one of their songs "...it's crazy just how love can go. It's the never that you'll never know."
When I said never, it may have been said in the sense that people fear what they don't know and what they don't understand. It's easy to say what you don't want when you've never had it.
Love ain't that bad...is it?
Do I have days when I just want to hold on to him and never let go? Yeah. Do I have days when I just study his face so I can burn every detail of his profile into my memory? Yeah. Do I have days when looking at him gives me butterflies in my stomach just like it did the first time we met? Yeah. Do I have days when I want to crack him upside the back of his head with a frozen smoked turkey leg when he's not looking? Yeah, but I still love him the same. You know why? Because, everyday is not going to be bluebirds and sunshine. Some days relationships go through some things, but
it's alright. You know why?
Because, love ain't that bad...is it?
I can't talk about love without talking about the cheater. Personally, I've never been the cheater or the cheatee. Some of my former colleagues loved to debate my views on infidelity. Here is some of the crap I heard from those jokers:
"Hey...just because I cheated on my wife/husband/goat (or whoever you've been lovin on!) doesn't mean I didn't love her/him/it. It just means I'm a man/woman/goat lover and I got to freak around sometimes."
IF YOU ARE A CHEATING MAN/WOMAN/GOAT LOVER don't try to bring the other men/women/goat lovers down with you by using that fouled up excuse! You are wrong as two left shoes with no shoelaces and no odor eaters! Don't fake the funk! Be who you are and walk in happiness with your sure, confident and goat lovin self!
"I hate him/her/it! How could he/her/it cheat on me? I'll never forgive them/it!!!"
Listen...when you pray don't you ask GOD to forgive you for the wrongs you've done? So, how can you ask for forgiveness and not forgive someone? You can't. I'm not saying forget, but for your own sanity, health and peace of mind forgive the wrong doer.
Wrong doer, with sincerity in your heart ask to be forgiven by both;GOD and your loved/liked one. You know you were wrong when you did it. If it happened yesterday or years ago say you're sorry and be for real about it. Don't walk in the wrong and refuse to acknowledge what you did. Stop making things harder than they have to be. You know why?
Because, love ain't that bad...is it?
