OAK PARK, ILLINOIS (USA) – 12 February 2009 – It is a colorful and entertaining children’s book series that will capture children’s attention, fire up their imagination, provide them with valuable life lessons and is responsive to the complaints of parents and educators throughout our global village that there is a scarcity of age-appropriate books for children which entertains and educates them. Reviewers of this children’s book series point to its wide appeal – an appeal that transcends the boundaries of language, culture, geography and religion. It is a children’s book series known as THE ADVENTURES OF SNOUT SERIES, which consists of four books that contain delightful modern day fairy tales penned by educator, author, folklorist, and award-winning poet Mr. John D. Evans who is a Chicago native.

“The Adventures Of Snout Series is a literary work that I have created in response to the mounting complaints of parents and educators throughout our global village that there are very few age-appropriate books for children which not only entertain them, but educates them, and provides them with a positive set of values. Individuals who have reviewed The Adventures Of Snout Series are struck by, among other things, its universal appeal, its imaginativeness, and the valuable life lessons it provides to children – our future – our bridge to the future-- that will provide them with a moral compass that will guide them from childhood through adulthood. Not only has The Adventures Of Snout Series received positive feedback from reviewers, it is being looked at by a number of publishers in the United States,” Mr. Evans shares.

So, who is John D. Evans? Currently, Mr. Evans is pursuing National Board Certification while earning his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Argosy University (Chicago). Evans’ prior literary work -- Diary of A Renaissance Man – book five of The Evans Poetry Collection – was named a Children's Choice 2008 by the International Reading Association, the Children's Book Council, and 10,000 schoolchildren. Mr. Evans currently resides in Oak Park, Illinois where he continues to write and advocate for the disenfranchised. He is a Special Education Case Manager and Learning Behavior Specialist with the Chicago Public Schools.

Mr. Evans grew up in Chicago, Illinois and earned a B.S. in Marketing from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia (1996), a M.A. in Special Education from Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois (2002), and a M.A. in School Improvement and Leadership from Olivet-Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois (2005). He has written several volumes of poetry that he shares with readers of all ages. He is a member of the Poetry Society of America, Academy of American Poets, Illinois State Poetry Society, Kappa Delta Pi National Honor Society of Education, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Inc.

In the summer of 2000, Mr. Evans published Acres of Green and Oceans of Blue: Diary of a Runaway. He later published More Than a Club Kid: Man Versus Self in 2002. Mr. Evans’ other publications to date include: Things That Make My World Go ‘Round: A Poetic Memoir (2003), How Deep I Can Be: Lessons and Confessions (2005), Diary of a Renaissance Man: Axioms, Aphorisms, Art, and Poetry (2007), J.D.’s Groove (2008), Between the Sun and the Shade (2009), and From Shining Doorknobs to Sporting Diamonds (2009).
