NADA-FOR THE BAILOUT Posted by Karl Anthony on September 29, 2008 at 8:13pm
Wow! Unbelievable! The bill went down to a political defeat 228-205. I cannot phantom why the bill wasn’t passed. According to Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., chairman of the Financial Services Committee, “Because somebody hurt their feelings, they decided to punish the country." Rep. Frank was referring to the Republicans. This is ludicrous! This was a straight forward bill that was worked out by both parties. I’m disgusted by the failure of the Republicans who with their vindictive nonsense agreed to the bailout and at the last minute failed to deliver. The government of President Bush along with the Republicans has failed miserably.
One thing we cannot afford to do is give up. We have to stay on top of the politicians. The bailout of Wall Street is needed despite the atrocities that the lobbyist and the fat cats
on Wall Street created. We must remember the people on Main Street. I’m talking about people like you and I. Senator Obama had this to say, “Democrats, Republicans, step up to the plate, and get it done.” What a lot of people fail to realize is that many of the pundits that have a problem with the bailout are not in any financial problems. The bailout does not affect them one way or the other. It is the “little” people like you and I, who have mortgage, car notes and our 401k to worry about who will be affected.
Something needs to be done sooner rather than later. I can guarantee a world crisis is about to rear its ugly head and if we are complaining now wait until the end of the year. Hopefully, enough people will come to their senses and realize that some form of bailout is needed.
The pervasive approach and mind games that the Republicans continue to play will only come back to bite them in the behind in November. The only suggestion that I can parlay is to watch the news and if your bank is on the list of being purchase by another bank, BEWARE! Until the next episode keep a close eye on your finances.
