MY POETRY
Posted by Karl "The Pathfinder" Anthony on September 10, 2008 at 10:18pm

My poetry is unlike any other
It is harsh, it is cold, it is reality
It is not pretentious, no, not at all
My poetry speaks of the ills, that many
will dismiss and say it has a weird twist
But what is Poetry? If it is not dealing with my realism,
my socialism, my voice, my thoughts and daily action
My poetry is gang-bangers hanging on the street corners
holding up the block with gats and glocks, ravished community
parks, it is getting dark, as a few broken down home girls show
off their wares, but you don't want to hear my poetry, you seem
to think it is a hybrid of some rap song or one of those gangster
books, see, my poetry is not fantasy, how could it be, when what I'm
putting to paper is what I see, but you're from another world, you "wanna"
hear things like "The soothing river tranquility absorb the passing of time"
hahaha, that is so funny man, that is not my world, my world is a living poetry
It is unlike any other, it is cold, bold, it will affect and cut and tear deep into
your soul, but I can see how you react, you think my style is wack, like way back, black
so now you want to attack, my style, my life and my profile, My poetry is unlike any
other, I speak of the despots, the death spots, the national grave plots, the kidnapped, the death traps, the tribunals, the refusuals, the World Trade Center, they hit the perimeter, a day of infamy on the 11th of September, a day we'll always remember, the
human events, tight knit, try this, identity fraud, corporate laws, they have none, so
merge the sum, it will never be done, hummm, is it a distraction or a reaction, action,
satisfaction, life saving elimination fell upon many like a nuclear bomb, exxon, call the don,who won? Enron? My poetry is unlike any other, because it is harsh, it is cold, it is reality.

Advice on Exploring Erotica in Your Writing

MediaBistro's Morning Media Menu had a conversation with author Jamie Brenner about advice for writers looking to explore this newly crowded genre. An excerpt from Brenner: My first erotic novel came out two years ago. The landscape feels completely different. There is not just the hope to reach a mainstream audience with erotic novel, but the expectation that success is reaching everyone, not just the genre readers. Fifty Shades of Grey really raised the bar for that. At the same time, working…See More
