The Warriors Grand Finale

[Thunder X]

(This is the first poem I've written since my teen years, and more than likely, the last one I'll ever write again. Poetry is just a little too European for me!)

Iron held in bloodied hands
at last the deed is done
Enemies lay in crumpled heap
'neath unforgiving sun
The call to arms not of his choosing
his clan no longer would stand bruising
"Resist" he cried, "we'll not be losing
Of prisoners there'll be none!"

"Come brothers, sisters be not stale
Fall-in and take your place
For freedom shall we stomp and rail
Stand up you foolish race
'Tis dust that comes to those who wait
While others master pawns of Fate
To feed you crumbs from off their plate
Your destiny come embrace"

The people followed where he led
Of triumph they were certain
And through the storm they fought and bled
Until the final curtain
While cowards shirked and watched the show
Their forces dealt their mighty blow
That all who witnessed would then know
The liberators burden

In time the war-drums soon did fade
The battle come to end
The spear and shield 'pon ground they laid
No more flesh would they rend
"Rejoice!" they cried "Rejoice the day
Make tribute to the Godz we pray
Oppression fought, oppression slayed
To Rebirth we must tend

Thank you kindly for the compliment. Words like that used to erupt from my mind like that all the time. Songs too. Don't know why it stopped, but it is so gone! I don't even know where this one came from; more than likely there will be no more.
