~A LETTER HOME~

Hello Mother Africa
This is from an orphaned son
As I am sure you know
I am not the only one

Many years ago
A warring tribe
Ensnared kin folk
Sold them off your lovely shores
To White man,
Bondage and the constant yoke

Hello Mother Africa
Do you know who I am?
My roots trace all the way back
To the Mother land

There are other races
That can trace their history
Unfortunately for me
Mine will remain a mystery

But my skin tells me
I am still your son
Like I said before
I am not the only one

I feel a desperate longing
That comes from not belonging
I am a stranger in a foreign land
Being drug here
Was never part of my plan

And having this country reach prosperity
On the backs of my ancestors and slavery
How many years did pass
Before someone said enough is enough?
And we will change the laws begrudgingly
And try and pretend
You're just like us?

Hello Mother Africa
That's the way things stand
And in your land I am an unwanted,
Mixed, racially distorted, distant, unrecognizable
But still
Black man

You don't have to hold me
Comfort me or console me
Or give me a resting place
Adversity is something that
We all must face

I don't speak the language
I don't know the history
Everything that I might know
Has been robbed from me

I live in a concrete jungle
Slavery is a thing
of the past
Or at least for some
The residue
Kind of sticks to you

Many still think that it should be
The way it once was and could be
We continue to make our way
In a world not our own
That changes every day

Mother Africa

Inside my soul still hears you
Like an infant without touch
I've been ignored far too much

The people on your coast
Need not accept me
The people in your jungles
Need not let me
Into their homes or hearts
Of which through no fault of my own
I haven't been a part

Nor am I looking for sympathy
Perhaps that's something you have given me
The will to continue on
A path when the place
Where one started
Are tales
That are completely erased
All gone

They tried to pass on your memories
They did that with treasured stories
But "His Story" has a way of erasing
The cultures of the people
It is debasing

I just wanted to tell you
Mother Africa
We are still pulling through
And if there is a part of you
That has forgotten us
We have never forgotten you

We love you Mother Africa
We miss you Mother Africa

There are some that want us to leave
And go home
From a land they stole
That was never their own

The hypocrisy is telling
Inside my heart the tears are welling
But we've been tempered by our station
To withstand
All the degradation

So Mother Africa

I send you salutations
I hope that you can understand
The need to give you tribulations

We don't know a whole lot
About our cultures or where were from
But inside our souls we all know

Although we don't fit there
You are the Mother land
And pieces of our heritage and race
Speak despite
The efforts to erase

Through our blood
And our bones

We may not be welcomed
If we returned

We make our own paths on uncertain grounds

Our spirits

Have risen up, adapted and learned
But we want you to know

Still Mother

We

Remember

Yep, the power of "facts" on the internet. Ain't it grand? People take forwards as gospel. Do you all also believe that Barack Obama shouldn't be president because he's not an American citizen? It' says he's not on the internet! I kinda wanted this…

You know what is sad in all this, the sentiment on this board is not about wanting to see justice, because frankly those on this board have shown they could care less about facts (not a single person here has seen the court documents of the case oth…

Because Sophia has made false claims! She said she won the case and that turned out to be a flat out lie! Why on earth would be you surprised she is now being scrutinized after misleading many?

you believe it because they say so? LOL! Name me ONE TIME where Sophia ever produced a court document about her case.
