Today’s discussion focus on the second series of the true meaning of Christmas, today we will discuss the letters “I, S, and T as they relate to Christ.
I-Immanuel, this name means God with us (Isaiah 7:14; 8:8; Matthew 1:23). Both scriptures support each other as Isaiah’s prophecy of the virgin birth and Matthew 1:23 record the prophecy as being fulfilled.
S-Savior is one who delivers or saves. In OT times God is the deliverer of His people. Also, in the OT, Savior… Continue

This week’s discussion of the Sunday school’s lesson is from an overview approach as it deal with a Syrophenician woman and her encounter with Jesus. This lesson depicts a mother’s determination in her efforts to see her daughter healed. The Syrophenician woman was from a culture where worship of the true God was not practiced. However, this woman somehow knew she needed to connect to Jesus if there were any hope of her daughter being… Continue

Today’s discussion will focus on the book of Judges from the following prospective:
a. The author
b. Date of its writing
e. It’s content
f. Personal application
g. Christ revealed
h. How the Holy Spirit was at work during this time.
The reason for this approach is to highlight the leaders God chose for the nation of Israel after the death of Joshua, and to try and raise a question in the minds of today’s believers’ of… Continue

The heavens declare the glory of God: and the firmament sheweth his handyword. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
Several days ago I was reading the Trumpet magazine, and there was an interesting article titled “The Perfect Seat for Viewing the Universe” written by Joel Hilliker. In the article, the writer talks about the Hubble Telescope and its orbiting the earth every 97-minute while discussing the journey the telescope… Continue

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
It has come to my attention that some of my readers are struggling under the weight of difficulties, our scripture text reminds us of Jesus’ invitation to come to Him regardless of our problems. Jesus recognized that there were going to be problems in our lives regardless of the cause; whether it sickness, financial difficulties or family struggles it remains a problem… Continue

1 John 5:1-5
In this week’s blog we will look at some key lessons in faith as “faith is based on our knowledge of God’s Word and His character” (Spirit Filled Bible).
In faith we as believers look forward to the second coming of Christ and we know that we will be transformed into Jesus’ likeness when He returns. Because of our faith we are confidence in our witness to who Christ is and the love that God, the Father has shown to all mankind as the Holy Spirit bare witness… Continue

Pondering what to write for this week’s blog, I was led to the above phrase as it relates to God’s invitation to humanity. It is God’s desire that all be saved and He invites all to come to Him without money, or any other baggage that could hinder the unsaved from receiving salvation.
What this phrase is saying that God in His love will do the cleansing through regeneration, sanctification, and justification for all who accept His gift of salvation, but the unsaved must first admit… Continue

Memorial is designated as a time of remembering or reflecting, and as we approach this holiday day weekend, I felt it necessary to take time out to wish everyone a safe, happy and relaxing weekend.
Many will spend the day /weekend reflecting and paying tribute to love ones and our fallen soldiers who have given so much for this country; for this I say my prayers and love are with the families and the soldiers both past and present alike, and well as the… Continue

Our topical discussion is based on a personal decision that each individual must make when deciding whether to accept God’s free gift of salvation that gives us the inheritance of eternal life or reject God’s gift of salvation and spend eternally separated form Him.
In making our choices we must remember that there is a spiritual warfare that is raging between God and Satan and our choice will determine where we will spend eternity as well as how we live our… Continue

In this week’s topical discussion we will answer three questions, what is meant by the phrase a well of life? Who is considered a well of life? How does one become a well of life and what are the benefits of being a well of life?
In our efforts to answer the first question, our scripture verse parallel’s the mouth of a righteous man as being “a well of life.” Why so, because all believers who follow God’s ways will lead others into the full-life given by God… Continue

God’s love letter to the world
As America has set aside this day to show one’s love for another, our heavenly Father displayed His love for all the world written in His Son’s blood (John 3:16). It begins by expressing the magnitude of His love for the world and this love surpasses all and endures all (1 Corinthians 13:1-8).
True love emulates God’s love that withstands the fires of life regardless of the difficulties we face. On that note, I send my agape love to… Continue

We will begin this week’s topical discussion by looking at the blessing believers receives from being in God’s house. Believers who go to God’s house are seeking His presence, answered prayers (v. 8), a renewed spiritual strength (vv5-7) as well as His grace, glory and goodness (v. 11).
Let’s take a closer look at the word “blessing” as it relates to God’s blessing His people receives as recorded in Luke 24:50, which are:
1. Blessing has the meaning of:… Continue

In pondering what to write this week and after much meditation while reflecting on society as a whole and the many false doctrines I felt compelled to talk about the humanist philosophies and doctrines.
In our scripture text, Paul warned the Colossian church to be on guard against all philosophies, religions, and traditions that teaches human existences and functioning independently from God. The false teachings that was occurring during Paul’s day was those… Continue

“Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the King, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem” (KJV). Our scripture verse tell us who came to worship the baby Jesus and where these men came from; history also tell these were religious learned men who specialized in astrology, medicine and natural science who came to praise and worship the new born king. Another gospel writer (Luke 2:8-20) tells of shepherds who were abiding in… Continue
