Surviving as the Only Black in the Office

Being the only black person working in an office environment can be challenging, and very intimidating; but does it have to be that way?  I was in that situation for over 25 years , and while many things in the workplace have changed for the better; being the only black in the office still gives most of us a lot of anxiety. Are You in Competition with other Authors?

I had a fellow Author come by my table at an Authors showcase recently; he said I came by to check out the competition.

 

I was dumb founded by this because I was sure our books were probably not about the same topic, and even if they were our perspectives would surely be different!
