My Photoshop Quote

"Ask not what Photoshop can do for you, but rather ask what you can do for yourself through Photoshop? The answer: just about anything."

Got That Amazon Kindle -- Yes, Yes Y'all

I've been eyeing the Amazon Kindle for about three years now.

I refused to buy as long as the price remained over $300.

They finally dropped the price earlier this month to $299 for the

Kindle 2. So, I swooped down and charged it.

So far, I'm pretty satisfied. It's lightweight, plus you can increase

the font size, which I really like. It holds over 1,000 full length books.

First title ordered: Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale… Continue

I so loved his voice, and this is a sad day in the literary world. I think his honest candor about the life of men who chose certain lifestyles was exceptional. I came upon his book quite by accident then proceeded to read all of them in short time. I will miss His words and talent.

Times are hard

Times are hard

As I walk along my path of destiny

Tiny wrinkles and lines define what is seen

I cringe at the blasphemy of matrimony

The word some have committed to this beautiful bond

That creates Security

I shake my head

When I get out of bed

And place my palms

In an

Up turned position

As I beseech my Father

Another day

I walk among the living dead

Dead to the purpose of what

One has… Continue

World Exclusive Interview for Innocent Victims (A must see for all Americans)

It is my hope that this book circulates amongst many generations, educating adults and children alike. If our children are educated early about the proper use of credit and the importance of protecting their names, then we could see a greater outcome.

NOW, the President is apologizing to the Officer and now has invited them both to visit in the white house. What now Hussein? Enoch, any suggestions?

Dear Black America and all others

The president is well within his political game to call, apologize, invite him to dinner or take him to a movie because what was said was said and what was done was done.

When the deal went down Obama took your side, what happens after that is… Continue

There is Rest in Jesus

Matthew 11:28-30

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

It has come to my attention that some of my readers are struggling under the weight of difficulties, our scripture text reminds us of Jesus’ invitation to come to Him regardless of our problems. Jesus recognized that there were going to be problems in our lives regardless of the cause; whether it sickness, financial difficulties or family struggles it remains a problem… Continue

They're wrong for that!

I belong to too many communities. Sometimes it overwhelms me.

But I'm Black. I'm a writer. I write Young Adult fiction.

I connect myself to communities that feed each individual part of me. When I visit here, I can rejoice in celebrations of my peers or lament the industry issues that make writing while Black a challenge.

I wish I were coming to rejoice, today.

The kiddie lit community has been in an uproar the last few days. Over this:…

Always Have A Plan B!

When the Garden of Eden didn't work out, God had a back up plan for both Himself and the world. His backup plan was Jesus. The darkness and destruction that was in store for man couldn't materialize because God had already planned out a just in case scenario. Imagine for a moment that God had no plan to address Adam and Eve's folly. Where would we as believers be? That is a very scary proposition.

So is the idea of not having a savings account. Most of us are so busy trying to stay… Continue
