"The Future Is......"

the beginning
They say that history oftentimes repeats itself. Even in cases of war and famine. As much as I hate to say it, the adage is true.      I was at the gas station and I told the man behind the counter to give me $20 on pump #4, and a pack of sour cherry bubble gum. He smiled a very nice lookin smile at me. At first I turned around and looked thinkin he was grinnin at somebody behind me. He says, "No! I wasa looking atchu." (I think he was of middle…

Stepping Out on Faith

Stepping out on faith.....knowing the level you're on is stability, your comfort zone, often causes hesitation.......what if, becomes the question. Your uncertainty becomes the obstacle, your lack of knowing what is to come becomes the obstacle, your lack of trust.....what happened to that step you took....based on faith.

Most of life's challenges are faced with the assurance we can accomplish the goal as it is presented. We can move on feeling we identified the source of the…

My Cultural Conscious Thought Lead Me To Conclude...Black Is Black!

can somebody please tell me why in 2011 we (black people) are still beefing with each other about skin tone?

black is black!

what a borin world we would be livin in if all black people looked the same.

all black people are beautiful despite the negative images of us that go forth (sometimes) by way of the media and sadly oftentimes by our own doin.

the sad truth is there was a time when it was forced upon us to forget our language,…

Love Ain't That Bad...Is It?

Love ain't that bad...is it?

How many times have you said "i love you" and you knew doggone well that you had more love for the piece of toilet paper you just flushed than you did for the person you just said it to?

Maybe you said it in the heat of passion. Maybe you said it out of guilt. Maybe you said it to be polite. Maybe you said it because you were standing at the alter in front of the the Pastor and two hundred and fifty guests, and  "uh...I like you a…

It also presents astute observations about the many different types of mental and financial games being run on women in Black churches across the nation.

Based on the shocking 2010 blog post that had CNN, Al Sharpton, Michael Baisden, Michael Eric…

Advice on Exploring Erotica in Your Writing

MediaBistro's Morning Media Menu had a conversation with author Jamie Brenner about advice for writers looking to explore this newly crowded genre. An excerpt from Brenner: My first erotic novel came out two years ago. The landscape feels completely different. There is not just the hope to reach a mainstream audience with erotic novel, but the expectation that success is reaching everyone, not just the genre readers. Fifty Shades of Grey really raised the bar for that. At the same time, working…See More
