Greetings my name is Hannah. I'm a struggling writer and I would like to find a publishing home for my novel. I cannot afford to self publish or pay for editorial coaching for my novel. It's been a long, bumpy and frustrating process for me. My manuscript has been rejected by numerous book agents and a many self publishers are reluctantly to adopt my project because I don't have any financial ability to pay the for their services. Some of them told me that the quantity of the book outweighs it's quality and that's it's going to need extensive editing. Can you abet me a few pointers?..I'm very anxious to publish my novel and I want to build up my writing credibility and a fan base for my craft. My novel is an urban/contemporary fiction and it's geared towards black women who are between ages 18 and 35 and I'm mostly interested in traditional publishing because they won't charge me anything; however I've been informed that they won't review any manuscripts that hasn't been edited. I'm assuming it's a handful of them (Shrugs) Thank You.

Advice on Exploring Erotica in Your Writing

MediaBistro's Morning Media Menu had a conversation with author Jamie Brenner about advice for writers looking to explore this newly crowded genre. An excerpt from Brenner: My first erotic novel came out two years ago. The landscape feels completely different. There is not just the hope to reach a mainstream audience with erotic novel, but the expectation that success is reaching everyone, not just the genre readers. Fifty Shades of Grey really raised the bar for that. At the same time, working…See More
