THIS IS MY THIRD PLAY THAT I AM GETTING READY TO START ON.THEIR VERY EXPENSIVE TO PUT ON SO FAR I ONLY BROKE EVEN.NO PROFIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I RAN AN AD IN THE PAPER AND FOUND PEOPLE ALSO USED A FEW FROM MY CHURCH. WERE YOU ABLE TO PAY YOUR CAST MEMBERS . I ALWAYS JUST BEAK EVEN.
DO YOU USE THE SAME ACTOR OR ACTRESS.HOW MANY PLAYS HAVE YOU PUT ON?

Vanessa Richardson said… - I did a donation stage production last year. Asking for can goods, clothes, and such. I submitted donation letters to different business making them aware of my cause. They contributed. For this project I didn't charge an admission. The night of Drama I asked for a monetary donation from our audience. Asking them to support our drama staff. You may want to do this at the begining of show. People tend to leave very quickly after drama have concluded.
But, over all. My cast volunteers for my drama's. I use my church members. Performing dramas are expensive. What really pull audiences are celebrities. Until you build up your awareness in the business or your community. Word of Mouth is best advertisement.
Have you contacted you community theatre? Ask for sponsors in your area? Keep the faith, don't lose site of your vision. I hope this helps.

We have much in common I see. I am preparing for our next stage production: God Knows My Heart! Slated to be performe around the Christmas Holday.
I am going to post some excerpts soon from our last performances, on YouTube, here and a couple of others sites as well. Do you!
