Please do not greet everyone on the site with large images and announcements of your book or business. Yes, you want to tell the world, but learn the fine art of subtlety. A simple welcome and signature/link is fine. Let
them ask you for more.
We have lost numerous members because of the amount of 'friend' mail they instantly receive.

My bio: Anita Diggs has worked as a book editor for Random House, Time Warner Trade Publishing and Thunder’s Mouth Press. She has lectured across the country on the topics of novel writing, book proposal development and how to get a literary agent. The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, C-Span, The New York Daily News have interviewed her. Columbia Journalism Review placed Ms. Diggs on their “The Shapers” list for the year 2000. The Shapers is a list of prominent New Yorkers who shape the national media agenda.

Books Ink is owned and operated by Constance Shabazz. Her bookstore and art gallery is located near Morgan Park. She is currently taking her business on line. She is definitely a person you should get to know in the Chicago area. She also co-host the annual Gwendolyn Brooks Writers Conference at Chicago State (in which I participated last year as a vendor). She has numerous events scheduled throughout the year. The launch party on Friday should provide as excellent networking opportunity. Since becoming affiliated with her last year, it has taken my ministry to greater heights, and she never fails to include me in all her events as a panelist whenever possible. She also provides book purchases for many of the local books clubs in the area. (This is how I gain my introduction into her circle when I hosted one of her book clubs). Her official website is booksinkonline.com.
You may wish to contact her directly for networking opportunities beyond this general introduction.
Again, all events are free this weekend, and if time permits, it could prove to be very beneficial to your ministry. Hope to see you there.
Happy Reading!
