A Midnight Talk With God

Psalm 119:62; Acts 16:25 At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. Today's topical discussion is reflecting on the power of prayer and the results of prayers being made to God. Acts 16:25 gives a vivid reminder of the power of prayer; when Paul and Silas was bound in prison they held a midnight prayer meeting and God sent an earthquake as His method to free…See More

Shinning The Light Of Christ

II Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. Our scripture text makes a profound statement as it relates to the god-Satan of this world and how he has blinded the minds of the masses in our society today just as he did during the writing of this text. Let’s be very clear, Satan is a defeated foe and his control on society is temporary. All…See More

Have You Seen Jesus?

John 20:19-21; 21:1-14 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. Our topical discussion question was posed because from early Resurrection Sunday morning until that evening there were activities that had occurred all relating to Jesus citing.Throughout our scripture texts were various citing of Jesus and the person did…See More

Christ Is Alive

Revelation 1:18 I am He that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. If the question was raised, how do we know that Jesus Christ is alive? On Crucifixion Friday He was crucified and on Resurrection Sunday when Mary Magdalene and others went to the tomb, Christ’s body was not there for He had risen as promised. All who believe died with Him on Friday and rose with Him on Sunday morning and as He live so do all believers. We can…See More

Jesus’ seven last words

What does these words mean to you?Luke 23:34; John 19:26-30, Mark 15:34Friday being what is commonly referred to as Good Friday; however, I prefer to refer to this day as the day my Lord was crucified fulfilling prophecy. Reflect with me if you will on the last seven words Jesus spoke and consider what they mean to each of us.Let’s begin with the phrase “Father, forgive them”, Jesus is asking His father to forgive the persons carrying out this treacherous act. Consider this thought for a…See More

Psalm 147:3, Psalm 130:3-4 If thou, Lord shouldest mark iniquities, who shall stand? But, there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. He healest the broken heart; He gathered together the outcasts of Israel. This being the Crucifixion and resurrection season, I felt compelled to write about forgiveness which is what God does once we as believers accept His Son Jesus’ atoning work on Calvary’s cross, which was to atone and forgive sin.  The difference between Christ’s atonement…See More

"Jesus Wept"

John 11:35 The above scripture is the shortest in the Bible, but it bring these questions to mind, why did Jesus weep and what was the spiritual conditions of society during Jesus' day? The setting was the brother of Mary and Martha had died whom Jesus loved and had raised him from the dead.Jesus' tears showed heartfelt emotions for His friend just as He does for all humanity. Jesus weeping showed His human side even though He was God in the flesh. Jesus feels our pain and hurt. Therefore, He…See More

God's Goodness And Mercy

Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. It is ironic that today’s message coincide with this week’s Sunday school lesson’s last verse of the much loved 23rd Psalm. That said, reflecting on the entire psalm one can see a psalm of trust, confidence, love and care from the Lord our Good Shepherd. Throughout this psalm depicts the Lord’s loving kindness and His protective powers. The psalmist ends by expressing…See More

As we celebrate our first official holiday of the year allow me to encourage all to be safe as we travel while enjoying the company of family, friends and our love ones. Let's do so in the spirit of peace, love and joy.

Memorials are days and or times set aside for remembering and reflecting. That said, let us remember who we are and whose we are.  Let us also remember and pay tribute to our servicemen past and present who sacrificed so much for this country.
