Why did I get sooooo angy?

I wrote a poem for a friend to be read at the funeral of her infant. I wrote this poem from my heart as I had know this mother ever since she was a 6th grade classmate of my daughters. I gave it to her and she put it in the program. When I saw the program I was upset that my poem was my friends mother, who could not spell or read very well. I did not make a fuss at the time but I did feel like I had been punched in the gut. I was asked to read the poem and I took my original to the… Continue

Be carful what you wish for....

Well people,

I am home for the time being. I have always wanted to be afforded the luxury of sitting at home and doing whatever I wanted when I wanted. Now I get that chance.

Well at least until my union fights this.

I guess it is time to go or get off the pot as they say.

I feel a little odd not having anywhere to actually be.

So, I guess I will finish some of the stories that I've started and develop my characters more.

In Loving Memory of Sariyah, so precious, so sweet.

In Loving Memory of Sariyah

I was here for just a minute

then I was called away.

I was here for just a minute

when I heard my Jesus say,

“My little one, come home with me”

And so, I flew away.

Then Jesus looked at me and said

“One day you’ll see them all again,

these people who cherished and loved you so,

when they meet you and I in heaven,

my precious one, just know that

you were sent for a reason and your living was not in… Continue

The YO-YO Effect

The Yo-Yo Effect

A Poem by Viola P. Blue

What happens when one lover is ready and the other is afraid...and can't make up his mind

We must be discreet

but, when can we meet

We must keep this quite

so, meet me at the Hyatt

Telling you how to behave

while I act like a knave

Drawing you near

but pushing you

Loving the feel of your skin

condemning the passion we're in

Looking into… Continue

Pearly Whites....

Buzz buzzing like a bee
bay beee…
Not behind my knees
Roll me over in your clover
Find my flower
Touch her for hours
She has more power than you or I
Letting her nectar splash on our thighs
Her power can’t be denied
She brings forth cries of disbelief
Especially when
she shows her

Hi :

This is just a heads up - A new company is starting in 2009. It will publish novels for women over 40. In other words, the main character has to be a female, over 40 years of age. She does not have to be black. The writer's gender and age is not an issue. All genres welcome: general, mystery, romance, historical, etc. Write to Brenda Frazier for more information. Her email address is:

All best,

The Yo Yo Affect

I like the idea but too much 'rhyming'. an example (3 rhymes in one paragraph...but it reads well to a point; so trust your audience by keeping it short unless the ideas are fresh
