i read "My Secret Place" & i enjoyed. my take on it is a prayerful state or the time you take throughout the course of the day to just take a breathe & realize God's always by your side. so your secret place is where you draw strength. i liked it... & in my opinion nothing need be changed.

Thanks for responding. Allusion and reference is a traditional literary device, so yes, you have heard something similar before!!! The allusion is intentional, but it's not to Tyler Perry. Perry used the title of a book called Diary of a Mad Housewife by Sue Kaufman that came out in the 70's. Very few people know this! So when he used a play on words of her title, I decided to do the same! However, I do give her credit in my play. I was really asking if the title was too scarey for men. Let me know.

I am thinking of revising the title of my play, Diary of a Mad Black Feminist. Before I do, let me know if you think the title is actually too controversial to the point that it scares audiences away. I appreciate your feedback on this. Peace, Marcia
