- I am "Free" in my mind, body and soul. Today I am the author of "Within These Walls" This is my first published book . I have four "Inner books that remain to be pubished in the near future. I write poetry and I have poems that I have shared over the years, however, I'm ready to have them published as well and share my gifts with the world.

Do it for the Sistas
Why do sistas compete with one another?
They could never compliment and encourage each other.
When a sista walks proud, with her back arched and straight
Someone will say in passing “eew she looks stink.”
If her hair is naturally long and she cuts it to tame.
The next comment you’ll hear is “It wasn’t hers anyway.”
Now if she extends her hair and it’s long and neat
Then you will say “You know that’s a weave”
If she speaks intelligent with words clever and bright

Dignity
By Tisha Carroway, dedicated to women of abuse
Years of abuse! How could anyone ever known?
I hid it so perfectly, not a scar or bruise was shown
I smiled when I left my house and cried when I came home
My body was weary, my heart ached and my soul was alone
Who could I tell? My family? Co-workers? Maybe my friends?
No way, could I tell them their opinions will cut within
