Freedom to dwell wherever I tread
Not confined to locations with boundaries
Zoning, districts, busing
Unleash me so I can roam free
To see mountains and rivers and trees of all sorts
To open up and breathe in fresh air
Somewhere where the sky is not blocked
but in plain view

New, fresh, clean, spotless,
Just waiting to be written on,
Who will be the first to write?
Will it be Ms. Incest, Mr. and Mrs. Poverty, Madam Rape to name a few?

Sirens blowing
People rushing
Horns blowing
Accidents
Violence
Body parts
Whole bodies
Guard dogs
Crack vials
Window bars
Car alarms
Cries for help
Pit bulls
Homelessness
Don’t care
Couldn’t car
Stray bullets
Ambulances
Emergency rooms
Body bags
Oh! So many body bags
No time
On time
Too late
The world is sick and is in need of a physician.

The Heart That Keeps On Beating
It has the most important job. Wounded yet it never skips a beat. There is no gluing or stitching involved, it just continues to work, as if oblivious to attacks.
It’s a wonder and many are in awe of it. It’s the pumper of life.
