What is a press release?

A press release, news release, media release, press statement or press announcement is a written communication directed at members of the news media for the purpose of announcing something ostensibly newsworthy

The purpose for creating a press release is to get media attention.  This basis information helps reporters develop a story.

It can be used for product, company or employee publicity, to announce an event, provide information on your charity, or to share information on the launching of a new product.  The media is always looking for stories about personal accomplishments, awards, promotions and ideas with a little twist.

It is our goal to assist small to mid-sized businesses and organizations in expanding their public relations outreach both locally, and internationally.

We know that you don’t have the time, so let us do it for you.

Greetings Fellow Authors,

Join us November 5th thru 7th at the Northland Shopping Mall in Southfield, Michigan for the International Urban Book Festival, Detroit. A great place to sell books and teach young people the importance of reading. We have rented the entire shopping mall to get our message out. Let's all encourage our youth to read at least two books per week.

Meet and network with celebrity authors, purchasing agents from schools, libraries and major corporations plus other members of the literary community. There will be literary workshops, panel discussions, lectures, seminars and classes on self publishing. We have 200 author tables now available, but there are sure to sell out quickly. Out of state attendees may receive discounts on hotel rooms by logging onto our website.

This is certain to be a fun filled events. Don't miss it.

Call us at (313) 446-2262 or log onto www.iubf.net

SPAM IS SO NOT COOL!

Please do not greet everyone on the site with large images and announcements of your book or business. Yes, you want to tell the world, but learn the fine art of subtlety. A simple welcome and signature/link is fine. Let them ask you for more.
We have lost numerous members because of the amount of 'friend' mail they instantly receive. This Hurts Everyone.
Spam is unsolicited advertising, whether it is posted as comments on other members' pages or is emailed for marketing purposes.

Please be considerate. Post your advertisement in the proper Articles/Forum or Group. There are free classifieds on the Pages tab. You can post your information on your profile and even update your blog as often as you like.

We are not into censorship, so please don't make us ask you to leave. Be kind and unselfish - don't spam.
SPAMMING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED

Advice on Exploring Erotica in Your Writing

MediaBistro's Morning Media Menu had a conversation with author Jamie Brenner about advice for writers looking to explore this newly crowded genre. An excerpt from Brenner: My first erotic novel came out two years ago. The landscape feels completely different. At the same time, working…See More
