Hi Sherryle:

This is just a heads up - A new company is starting in 2009. It will publish novels for women over 40. In other words, the main character has to be a female, over 40 years of age. She does not have to be black. The writer's gender and age is not an issue. All genres welcome: general, mystery, romance, historical, etc. Write to Brenda Frazier for more information. Her email address is: writingtimes@aol.com

All best,
Anita

RE: Montgomery Cty. Fair. E-mail me offsite at Sylvia@SpringboardTraining.com. I can then send you more info and you can decide whether you'd like to join me in August. I'd love the company. It's a hike up to Gaithersburg for you, though, so consider the cost of gas in addition to the Fair parking & entry and the $20.00 I'm asking for a time slot.

Respect the Mouse

When Book Marketing gurus instruct us impressionable debut novelist to couple each and every vacation with a book marketing activity such as a book signing or author appearance I’m sure they didn’t mean a Disney Vacation-the mother of all vacation orchestration. But, I attempted it. I was invited to sign my debut novel, Soon and Very Soon in the Author’s Pavilion at my sorority convention in Orlando this past week . That gave me at least four days to hang out with Mickey, Minnie and the crew. Wh… Continue

Thrifted, Not Re-Gifted?

Thrifted, Not Re-gifted
A funny thing happen to me at the thrift store. As I was scanning the bookshelves for the lastest literary cast-offs my daughter cried out to me after unearthing a slightly worn copy of my debut novel, Soon and Very Soon-with a signature, no less. I haven't done many of these. This gave me pause. I was insulted. I felt the way I did when I found my favorite cassette tape of all time, New Editions's NE Heartbreak album in the bargin bin at Sam Goody record store. Surely, i… Continue

My first love and/My Momma's Bald Head

Admist writing deadlines and the constant booksignings, and promtions, I took time out to revisit the journal and the well of words I call, Recurring Thoughts. These are my emotions in written form-in the form of poetry. I found unrequited love, lust, passion and prayers in the shuffle. Some of my fellow authors and fans of my Christian fiction might be surprised. I surprised myself as I was swept back to the origin of each poem will reading themI pulled them out to be a participant on Literary… Continue
