What You Need to Know About Me:
I'm a native New Yorker. I moved to the Washington DC area after I graduated from Syracuse University and after living there for 8.5 years I moved to Dallas, TX where I resided for 3.5 years before moving back to the DMV area. I'm published in 5 anthologies which include, "Gumbo for the Soul, Here's Our Child Where's the Village and Women of Honor--Special Pink Edition edited by Beverly Black Johnson, How I Freed my Soul, Liberated Muse edited by Khadijah Ali Coleman and Have a Little Faith and the upcoming book Keeping the Faith edited by Vanessa Miller."

I have been in the nonprofit field for thirteen years serving in capacities such as after school programming, grant writing, creating partnerships and leveraging resources for smaller non profits so they can succeed.

My creative writing influences are authors and poets such as Zora Neale Hurston, Sonia Sanchez and Nikki Giovanni. My Mother and Grandparents have also encouraged me to go after my dreams and passion to write. I always give praise to God for blessing me. My other influences are my godchildren that really help me to imagine and dream to create children's stories. My friends and the wild stories I hear on a daily basis is the foundation of my fictious novels that have a lot of reality in them.

I'm also the founder of Divine Wryte Creations, Making Words into Art. Founded in 2007 I create and sell poetic products such as framed poetry and bookmarks. Silenced by Cancer

Greeting BAS Members. I hope all of you are blessed and creatively doing what you love to do. My last update was in the summer shortly before my mother Marguerite "Sauti" Wills was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. She was told that it was already at stage 4 which is advanced as it spread to her stomach as well.
