Never Look Down

Never Look Down

Raindrops in life don’t always feel light,
Sometimes they come hard and feel like razor blades against my skin,
Ricochet by the wind like a bullet from the caliber of a gun,
But, grandmother always taught, no matter the cost…never look down.

Busy city streets,
Taxi’s passing by… Continue

Nurturing the Child called Hurt!

"Many people are nurturing and carrying the past the way a mother nurtures and takes sole responsibility for a child. When one fails to loose themselves from the hurt or disappointment, they find themselves not only BOUND by the issue but OBLIGATED to make it a natural part of life; choosing to live WITH it, instead of growing from it and becoming BETTER because of it."-Savaslas Lofton

Roses are the Color of Brown Sugar

Roses are the Color of Brown Sugar

Sculpted in time by the hand of God
Swaddled and presented to man in mature form
Eyes closed not yet exposed to light
Until finished, every curve of your frame made perfect.

The earth needs you
To help accent the colors of the rainbow
Give proportion to the mountains
Be the central thought to birds that sing
You have caused the wind to blow
Look how the autumn leaves dance at your feet.

Yes…roses are the color of brown sugar
Your skin glows like that of one… Continue

CONVERSATIONS
LISTEN!
Can you hear the un-kept truth of the words about to be spilled?
LISTEN!The charismatic energy spewing from gingered lips.
LISTEN!
Whispered secrets are important to guilty consciences.
LISTEN!
Capable are gestures at relaying skilled orders of emotions.

Emotions run deep
scattered in the heart
are bangs of spirits and souls
unfolding relinquishing
the foretold of journeys
shadows remembered
walls talking in cornered sentences;
LISTEN!

Long ignored, but serious in their own right - comics and graphic novels are often relegated to the children's table. That's NOT where I would expect to see Sin City! It's time to support our Black Comics.
