Free gas, hunh?

As you very well know I can't pass up an opportunity to write about events that take place in everyday life. Especially my life so once again I got one for you.      I was at the gas station and I told the man behind the counter to give me $20 on pump #4, and a pack of sour cherry bubble gum. He smiled a very nice lookin smile at me. At first I turned around and looked thinkin he was grinnin at somebody behind me. He says, "No! I wasa looking atchu." Love Ain't That Bad...Is It?

Love ain't that bad...is it?      How many times have you said "i love you" and you knew doggone well that you had more love for the piece of toilet paper you just flushed than you did for the person you just said it to?      Maybe you said it in the heat of passion. Maybe you said it out of guilt. Maybe you said it to be polite. Maybe you said it because you were standing at the alter in front of the the Pastor and two hundred and fifty guests, and  "uh...I like you a lot" just didn't seem…See More

He Got Out...

I got more to say about Trayvon's murder.     It seems that Mr. Zimmerman suffered a whooped up face. He claims that Trayvon knocked the snot out of him which resulted in him being in fear for his life and shooting his attacker in self defense.I'm not saying all of the following events are actual. I'm just saying it COULD have went down like this:…See More

My Cultural Conscious Thought Lead Me To Conclude...Black Is Black!

can somebody please tell me why in 2011 we (black people) are still beefing with each other about skin tone?

black is black!

what a borin world we would be livin in if all black people looked the same.

all black people are beautiful despite the negative images of us that go forth (sometimes) by way of the media and sadly oftentimes by our own doin.

the sad truth is there was a time when it was forced upon us to forget our language,…

Advice on Exploring Erotica in Your Writing

MediaBistro's Morning Media Menu had a conversation with author Jamie Brenner about advice for writers looking to explore this newly crowded genre. An excerpt from Brenner: My first erotic novel came out two years ago. The landscape feels completely different. There is not just the hope to reach a mainstream audience with erotic novel, but the expectation that success is reaching everyone, not just the genre readers. Fifty Shades of Grey really raised the bar for that. At the same time, working…See More
