Trump Not Fit to be Commander in Chief

Like many Americans, I thought the Donald Trump phenomenon would have faded by now. Now that Trump is the Republican nominee, I feel obligated to share my concerns about Donald Trumps ability…

Surviving as the Only Black in the Office

Being the only black person working in an office environment can be challenging, and very intimidating; but does it have to be that way?  I was in that situation for over 25 years , and while many things in the workplace have changed for the better; being the only black in the office still gives most of us a lot of anxiety. I know personally how tricky and scary it can be. Corporate America severely lacks in diversity, there are only 5 black CEO's at Americas 500 biggest…

Are You in Competition with other Authors?

I had a fellow Author come by my table at an Authors showcase recently; he said I came by to check out the competition.

I was dumb founded by this because I was sure our books were probably not about the same topic, and even if they were our perspectives would surely be different!

I do not compete with other Authors at all. I write books solely to help and entertain people, not for the money and definitely not for the competition. I am curious what other…

I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and demand it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on( for the full details.

Have a nice day.

Hi Matt,

I think like you in that I don't consider myself in competition with any other author.  There are tons of us writing in the same genre, some better than others, some more graphic than others, some more humorous than others, and some for entertaining than others. Each writer's voice is different, and I really dislike those writers I meet that say their books are like so-and-so bestselling author.  My fiction is not like anyone else's even though it might be crime fiction like many others.

Also, I think the "timing" of your writing and how many projects you can put out there is different for fiction writers and non-fiction writers.  For example, if you wrote a non-fiction book about losing weight, you could easily publish a companion cook book, a companion eating journal, a companion some of type journal, etc. all within a one-year span.  For a fiction example, I would use the same analogy with novellas.  They have made a comeback in eBook format, and some authors are able to publish anywhere from six to ten novellas in a twelve-to-fourteen month period of time.  As soon as I publish my second novel (now pushed back to September due to some other editing I want to do), I am going to try my hand a a series of novellas based upon the seven deadly sins.  I'll publish each one in eBook format only at a very low price, and then I will publish all seven in a print book for a normal price.  I'm going to try it so I don't get bored with what I'm doing.  I usually write a complete novel during the month of November - that's why I already have five completed unpublished novels...well, that'll be down to three unpublished ones after September! LOL

Thanks for friending me and Happy Writing!
