Everyone who follows BronzeWord Latino Authors posts and links from @LatinoBookNews knows that I love doing research. Usually I go to a blog and look for their email address and their Twitter name so I can contact the owner and invite them to participate in what I’m doing. Or if I am twittering their article, I want to use their Twitter name so they know that their post had value.

Because of my constant searching, I have seen a few things that work well and a few things tha… Continue

Would you like to join?
Every weekday from November 16th to December 18th, I would like to post an essay written by an author covering the different ways readers/book buyers can assist People of Color authors in spreading the word about our books. Give shoppers inexpensive ways to spread the word about us. There are things people can do that don’t cost money and supports authors.

You may choose the length of your essay. Bulleted list usually work best, making the suggestions… Continue

Rep Your Favorite Latino/a Book for Hispanic Heritage Month

As an author, I thought of one way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. We can celebrate our books written by our own and win a book in the process. I borrowed the idea from Darcy Pattison doing Random Acts of Publicity Week and as they say, “Why reinvent the wheel.” I thought her idea and her tips were perfect to celebrate our books for t… Continue

Hi, Jo Ann
Thank you for the nice comments. If you have a video program on your computer, you can make your own video. You just put pictures or jpegs into the storyboard, add lines and music, and save it. I have microsoft movie maker. Usually a computer comes with it. Check and see. You can also get a book trailer done professionally. Cos-productions is a great company to check out. Their videos and book trailers have won awards. Here's there url:www.cosproductions.com.

Do you have a free photobucket account? I convert all my pics/jpegs from photobucket to get the hmtl, then just cut and paste. It's a lot of fun. For example, just right click on a picture or moving image you like. Save the file, then upload it to your photobucket account, and then photobucket converts it into hmtl. Copy and paste the hmtl of the image on your website or blog. That's it! =) And photobucket is FREE. Woo Hoo!

You're very welcome. :)
With the festival that I created, I've been able to work up a bit of a Mailing List. I usually send out e-blasts periodically about certain events that are going on around the country, or shoutout a particular author doing a book signing, or looking for a review. I've made a few connections; nothing major, but it's a way to network.

Feel free to send me a message.

SPAM IS SO NOT COOL!

Please do not greet everyone on the site with large images and announcements of your book or business. Yes, you want to tell the world, but learn the fine art of subtlety. A simple welcome and signature/link is fine. Let them ask you for more.
We have lost numerous members because of the amount of 'friend' mail they instantly receive. This Hurts Everyone.
Spam is unsolicited advertising, whether it is posted as comments on other members' pages or is emailed for marketing purposes.

Please be considerate. Post your advertisement in the proper Articles/Forum or Group. There are free classifieds on the Pages tab. You can post your information on your profile and even update your blog as often as you like.
