What You Need to Know About Me:
I love writing and thank God that I have come to a time in my life when I am able to focus and dedicate time to this passion and calling. My first book Out of Safe Places, poetry and short stories, was published in January 2011. It is available at and through I have been reborn! In Mayr 2011 I completed an eleven month teacher training and certification program at Asheville Yoga Center in Asheville, NC. I live a grateful and joyful life at the intersection of mindful practice and a love for the word.

I finished my first novel in 2009 with the loving fun help of National Novel Writers's month and spend most of 2010 editing. I am exploring publishind options having successfully self-published once, now I am looking at the universe of options. My second novel is speculative fiction. I have a bit more love to give it and it has some more to teach me.

These days I am putting the finishing touches on a play that I am submitting in June for a contest for new playwrites of color. In July I am going to the Harlem Writer's Festival and looking forward to meeting and greeting with the community of writer's there.

My poetry and prose appear in several anthologies including Sisterfire, edited by Charlotte Sherman Watson, My Soul is a Witness – African American Women and Spirituality edited by Dr. Gloria Wade-Gayles and Merry Christmas Baby, edited by Paula Woods and Felix Liddell.

Please do not greet everyone on the site with large images and announcements of your book or business. Yes, you want to tell the world, but learn the fine art of subtlety. A simple welcome and signature/link is fine. Let them ask you for more.
We have lost numerous members because of the amount of 'friend' mail they instantly receive. This Hurts Everyone.
