Greg, I love your direction. I've read many books written with many comparisons of scripture verses your thoughts on what it takes to really heal our hurts. We are 'Damaged Goods.' I don't want that title. No one wants to be viewed as such I am sure. Standing in the mirror I was reminded of the scriptures that I had been taught. 'Press toward the mark of the higher calling of Jesus Christ....Christ makes all things new and the old are passed away.' Scriptures like these have given me license over the years to continue as I am, living in a shell, holding onto a false image of being okay, alright, good, healed, touched...just because I believe. Oh, and we are taught to rant and rave of our healing and if you have not yet received your healing it is because you are not praying, believing or fasting enough. Yes, faith indeed is powerful, and having a positive outlook can in fact do wonders. But does it alone make the real hurts and real pains of incest, drug and alcoholism, abandonment and other serious things that take place in our lives as children just disapear? 'Your theory' of the utmost importance of knowing self I am proving daily. It is difficult for me to entirely discount my upbringing of religion, but there is definitely more. The scriptures do indeed apply, but in most cases the meat of it all for us has been missing. So we sit in the churches professing things out of our mouths alone and not understanding that our religion has not taught us how to be real with and deal with our issues. They have been glazed over with continual proclaiming that 'The Lord will Fix it' 'Aint He Alright, He is Good All the time.' I don't doubt God is with us, but I am starting to see that we have been brainwashed accepting a skeletal frame of instructions only. I am now looking inward. Thanks for this book Greg
