Rhymer’s Dilemma
From nether reaches of the mind,
Esoteric scribes weave riddles,
Parlaying arcane phrases,
Such as “Hey diddle and diddle”;
For even the learned scholar,
Of matters great and little,
Might succumb to the complexity,
Of a musical cat and a fiddle;
Still, I applaud the rhymer,
Who should duly take the bow,
To think a strange thought,
The moon visited by a cow;
If all poets be mad,
And their best efforts a lark,
Then the dog to their ears,
Might laugh, instead of bark;
