From top to bottom, left to right are Ayanna, an 8-inch, full-body resin doll by Ping Lau created in an edition of 80 dolls world wide; Model of the Moment Nichelle, Urban Hipster by Mattel (friend of Barbie); Musical doll by Lorna Paris; Josephine Baker from the History of Fashion series by Madame Alexander; and 1930's Patsy Jr by Effanbee. These dolls grace the cover of my second, full-color, black-doll reference book. They represent the types of dolls that are featured in the first 7 chapters of the 9-chapter book, which is an extensive reference on vintage-to-modern black dolls created from the late 1800s through the present. The book is a follow-up to my second black-doll reference book,
The Definitive Guide to Collecting Black Dolls, which is the first, full-color, black doll reference book ever published!
