What You Need to Know About Me:
I wear many hats. I am a traditionally and self-published author, black-doll enthusiast, woman, daughter, sister, friend, aunt, wife, mother, granny, and more. My books are: The Definitive Guide to Collecting Black Dolls (2003) and Black Dolls: A Comprehensive Guide to Celebrating, Collecting, and Experiencing the Passion.

Black Dolls: A Comprehensive Guide ...

From top to bottom, left to right are Ayanna, an 8-inch, full-body resin doll by Ping Lau created in an edition of 80 dolls world wide; Model of the Moment Nichelle, Urban Hipster by Mattel (friend of Barbie); Musical doll by Lorna Paris; Josephine Baker from the History of Fashion series by Madame Alexander; and 1930's Patsy Jr by Effanbee. These dolls grace the cover of my second, full-color, black-doll reference book. They represent the types of dolls that are featured in the first 7 chapters of the 9-chapter book, which is an extensive reference on vintage-to-modern black dolls created from the late 1800s through the present. The book is a follow-up to my second black-doll reference book, The Definitive Guide to Collecting Black Dolls, which is the first, full-color, black doll reference book ever published!

For more information about the book, which is written for doll collectors and anyone who recognizes the significance of black-dolls and their documentation, visit: http://blackdollcollecting.com

Exerpt from Black Dolls: A Comprehensive Guide to Celebrating, Collecting, and Experiencing the Passion

PREFACE

Doll collecting, in general, is listed among the major hobbies enjoyed by people throughout the world. This includes black-doll collecting, which I have been blessed to enjoy as a passion since 1991. Collecting black dolls provides a reconnection with my inner child. It allows me to see the complete innocence of childhood in its unadulterated, unmarred state. Collecting dolls is an escape from the sometimes harsh realities of adulthood. In most instances, complete joy is derived from c… Continue

SPAM IS SO NOT COOL!

Please do not greet everyone on the site with large images and announcements of your book or business. Yes, you want to tell the world, but learn the fine art of subtlety. A simple welcome and signature/link is fine. Let them ask you for more.
We have lost numerous members because of the amount of 'friend' mail they instantly receive. This Hurts Everyone.
Spam is unsolicited advertising, whether it is posted as comments on other members' pages or is emailed for marketing purposes.

Please be considerate. Post your advertisement in the proper Articles/Forum or Group. There are free classifieds on the Pages tab. You can post your information on your profile and even update your blog as often as you like.
