There You Stand (For the spoken word)

There you stand on the corner
Trying not to smile, cause you want to look hard
Yeah, you’re a thug now, a killer
A real nigga

There you stand on the street
Just wishing a motherfucker would step to you
Cause now you’re a real man
Cause today you’ve got a Glock tucked in your waistband

And that shit makes all the difference doesn’t it?

From now on you’re going to have your respect
That’s what cold hard steel does for a nigga
Gives him respect in the jungle
And you’re a beast, aren’t you?

The Last Man on Earth

He woke up with the sun blazing down onto his face. He used his arm to shield his eyes and opened them slowly.
His head hurt so badly!
What happened?
He sat up gingerly. His body hurt too.
He looked around.
Nothing but sand all around him.
Sand and sun.
What had happened?
Was it an explosion? He seemed to remember a burst of light…somewhere…somehow.
He couldn’t remember…couldn’t think.
His head hurt so badly.
He stood up, winced at the pain in his side.
He turned around, looked around.
Nothing b… Continue

My New Book "A Southern Belle" is Out

Think 1949, in segregated Murfreesboro, North Carolina. Think about a woman of wealth and privilege who has everything she wants, except the fulfillment of her physical desires.

The back cover splash:

Everyone lives two lives…The life others see…and the life they live in their deepest, most erotic fantasies.

Clarise Belle Bettencourt is a woman of privilege and means. As mistress of the Bettencourt household, she’s the flower of southern aristocracy. She has money. She has power. S

Excerpt from "Breaking Point," featured in "Love Won't Let Me Wait"

During our four years of marriage Felicia always talked about wanting to lose weight. But she didn’t actually do anything about it until we separated. Maybe being free and single and out on the market again gave her the motivation she needed to finally start working out. So I had to suffer the torture of seeing my wife every day, looking more beautiful than she ever did when we were together.

Believe me; it really sucks seeing what you used to have looking better than when you had it, especiall… Continue

Excerpt from "The Plan," featured in "Love Won't Let Me Wait"

"Girl, don’t tell me you’re planning on going to Tyrell’s house!” Linda exclaimed.

Tonya was studying her freshly manicured and decorated nails. Without looking up she said, “Yes I am.”

“Ooh girl, Aaron is gonna kill you!”

Tonya glared at her friend. “How’s he gonna know? Besides, nothings gonna happen. I’m just going to see what the brother is talking about. I mean, he’s been asking me to come over for the past two months – every time he sees me in his shop. And it’s not like I have anything… Continue
