The Good Ship Jesus

I am Mandinka Jawaaro,

Mandinka Warrior

From Kunga to Sinkandinga

And, with these black fingers

Curled around my spear and my shield,

I stood with other boys, who wished to become men

And learned the dances of death;

Learned the Warrior Ways;

Learned the tactics, strategies and rules of engagement

Training from dusk ‘til dawn, as the Elders instructed,

But knowing in my heart that no one would try to attack… Continue

"86 PACES" - Short Horror Fiction

The time to strike drew near.

Andy’s heart rate slowed as Coral approached the ambush site.

The killing-time was Andy’s cool-water libation; the hunt – his calming opiate.

Coral jogged along the trail, spurred on by the revolutionary call of Bob Marley:

“Dem crazy,

Dem crazy…

We gonna chase those crazy baldheads outta town…”

If Coral wasn’t jogging to Kanye West, then it had to be Robert Nestra… Continue

It's been a minute on my part, hasn't it?

Hope that all is good on your end. Been meaning to ask, how was your HND experience? I didn't get the chance to make it out there back in August. I was only able to attend the last day of events....

I would love to meet with you. Most of my stories are based on African culture and mythology, and having some insight on African martial arts would definitely enhance my action scenes. I'm a former (i don't pratice anymore) martial artist. I studied sil lum kung fu, Chinese Kenpo, tae kwon do and boxing (my dad was a boxer in the Marines) for twenty 15 years. I'm looking forward to meeting you.
