POET PUBLISHES FIRST COLLECTION FROM GRADE SCHOOL JOURNALS

(June 2009)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

School Girl: Poetry and Prose of a Pre and Post Adolescent, a book of poetry by Anarda Nashai

Temple Hills, MD-(June 2009)- Anarda Nashai has published an engaging and thought-provoking collection of poetry, told from her own pre and post adolescent point of view. School Girl is a very unique compilation of poetry written from the prospective of an often curious and perplexed, but mostly excited girl as she paves her way towards womanhood with each and every word she writes.

Using a free-versed method of confessionalism, Nashai proves that there is much to be told from the voice of a budding young artist, and that the introspection of such should never be underestimated.

Twenty-eight yearl old Nashai came across some her old journals more recently, several of small books filled with poetry she had written during her junior high and high school career. "It had been several years since I'd read any of my own poetry. While reading, I started to remember what it felt like to create this work. The memory of it all is truly amazing. I almost can't believe that I actually wrote these words as a kid."

It is also clear from her written introduction of the book why she hadn't decided to publish her poetry sooner. "During my teenaged years, I used poetry as my most reliable companion--as a way to relay my thoughts and feelings. I never dreamed that I would share my poetry with anyone...these unofficial diaries of mine."

School Girl is available for purchase at Lulu.com, Amazon and Barnes & Noble.com

Anarda Nashai remains spellbound by the art of poetry since her discovery at the early age of eight.
