I have a published book of poetry, "Thoughts Surrounding Me/Roaming Mind 1." I am currently revising it for my upcoming publishing company (Creativ Biz). Here are two of my poems. Hope you enjoy. God Bless.
What Makes Your Man?
Is it the way he explores, exhibits, and elevates Jesus Christ
How he respects you and treats you as his queen
His black, cocoa, caramel, red, white, or ivory colored skin
His braids, locks, twists, baldhead, bald fade, curly, wavy, or straight hair
The lowering or wink of his eye
The touch of his lips
His strong, masculine, body
His fashion fair
The alluring smell of his cologne
The secret skills he possesses
His bread winning and stretching abilities
or his street or academic intelligence
Every woman has her own definition
and whatever it is
she knows what makes her man
Sugarfly
Sweet
desirable
fast
and always on the move
Going from house to house
seeking whom she can trap
Leading them astray
into her web of deception
Locked beneath the crept of her wings
where they are anxiously awaiting
their release
When will it come
They will never know
