Would you like to be featured on the Black Author Showcase? Any member that contributes useful information that helps the entire community is not commercial can be featured. It's easy, just write a blog entry, book review, article/essay, start a discussion, lead an active group, upload a book, graphic art, useful photos or videos, sample chapters, or writing samples.
Have an existing website or blog? You can republish any article or blog entry on your Black Author Showcase profile page blog or create an article or discussion based on articles on your website. We prefer that you have the entire piece with a full link to your site(s) at the end and not just a one liner or paragraph with a 'continued' link at the end.
What happens when you are featured? Your piece is showcased on the front page of the website community along with frequent broadcasts to our twitter and facebook followers. In the past we have had podcasts focusing on featured members and look forward to starting that up again. Not a bad deal for a totally free membership community. Our goal is to promote our members who uphold our mission:
“A cooperative learning, teaching and supporting community for anyone who helps bring a book to life.”
Ads, trailers and commercials are not considered suitable content. If you are blatantly just telling someone to buy your book or service, that doesn't help the community or you. You can expand your reach by providing useful content that will bring members back to read your contributions. This will also further you as a subject matter expert.
How do we choose featured members? Our editors check our uploads using the community software that gives us daily feedback on top content and members. We do not know all of our members personally, so there is no favoritism. Content is chosen by what helps the greater community with creating and finding better books.
