Agents of Literary Change

Promoting can be a hassle but, it's the only way your gonna get people to notice your project. Think outside the convential methods and areas of advertising. People... bookstores are not the only places you should be going after. Look at your book and/ or talents... Can you "sell" it to other companies i.e. you write children's books? Is there a daycare or childcare chain around you? If, so, go in and introduce yourself to the director. Maybe you can host a "Children's Time" there featuring your book/s. Do you write books for teens- are your poems uplifting? If so, contact your nearest middle/ high school (the board of education). Tell them about yourself and what your trying to accomplish and let them know your available. Hey, people. How do you expect to move forward if buyers don't know you're out there. What topics do you talk about in your work/s? Are they benefitial to public awareness ie. Aids, STDs, Drug use, etc? If so, contact someone at the nearest clinic- maybe their putting together a conference or know someone who's putting together something. Religious books- easy contact a church, youth group, hospital (if your work sets a healing tone). The worst thing that can happen is that you get turned down. That's it.... you keep moving right along. But, if you get a "yes" who knows what doors will open up for you! I hope some of my suggestions will help someone out there. Also, please past on tips and suggestions to fellow writers, performers, poetics, etc. It's hard out here when your trying to stand on your on two feet!

Much Love and Success,

Cee

You so smart. Now if I my genre is creatively dramatic/urban/mainstream literature, what focus do you suggest. I'm focusing on my church folk, social circle, family and Black Author Showcase.

Hello,

I have written a vampire series of novellas and published my first novella on October 10, 2009. I have been looking for an experienced book marketer to jump start our marketing campaign. Can you refer us to someone who has experience in this genre and who would be willing to partner with us to help us achieve these goals.

Yep, the power of "facts" on the internet. Ain't it grand? People take forwards as gospel. Do you all also believe that Barack Obama shouldn't be president because he's not an American citizen? It' says he's not on the internet! I kinda wanted this…
