A Rough draft of something I'm working on...


Lena, clutched the 35 mm gun terrified, her perfect manicured nails grasped the trigger. This was not a time to think about chipping a fingernail. Her life was in her hands and in a few seconds she was going to have to make the hardest decision of her life. She held back the tears building up in her big hazel eyes. Her bottom lip quivered as she blanced on her 4 inch heels, leaning against the wall. Her heart pounded against her chest, she could hear her own heartbeat.
At that moment her front door was kicked in and the man she feared, her whole life barged in, with a gun in his hand pointing it dead at her. Their eyes locked.
“Lena!” He bellowed so loud the walls shook. Lena was speechless, she could not speak. She faced the man she loved and the man she hated, the man she wanted dead.
“You gone shoot me!” He yelled in rage as spit flew from his mouth.
“You killed my mother.” She screamed. and those tears finally left her eyes, but she did not for one second put her gun down. Death was staring her in the face. For she knew if she put her gun down she would be a dead woman just like her mother. As her tears screamed down her face, her vision became blurry.
“Why? Why she loved you so much.” Lena cried. She never cried, no one ever saw a tear leave her eyes. She was the strongest young woman anybody knew, growing up with the biggest drug lord father in the west coast. She learned by watching the street game, saw many people killed right in front of her eyes since she was kid. She feared no one. But the man who stood before her. Her father.
“Your mother lied to me for twenty-two years, that bitch deserved to die!”
“Wrong answer daddy. Wrong answer!” Lena whispered. And with that they both pulled the triggers on their guns. Lena felt a sharp pain over come her body, but she kept her eyes on the man she had known all her twenty two years of life as her father, fall backward. His piercing eyes locked on her, as the hot bullet seared through his forehead and his lifeless body fell like a ton of bricks to the floor and the darkest thickest blood Lena every saw cam gushing out his head. She slid against the wall and grabbed her shoulder when she realized the bullet had grazed her left shoulder, but she felt no pain. She was numb. She had just killed the man she had known as Shotgun, the man everyone feared, her father, well as of 24 hours ago she learned Shotgun was really her Uncle. Lena knew what she had to do, quickly. Make this murder scene look like self defense, she was going to have to turn on the water works and make up a quick story and grab Shotgun in her arms and pretend, she was mourning.
She had to make it look like someone killed her father, there was more than a few people who wanted her father dead, and so it wouldn’t be hard. Lena also knew it would be up to her to take over the drug game, someone had to run the streets, and she was just the one to do it.

Hi everybody,
I write urban short storeies, poems, and novels. I currently have an eseries on myspace which is a spinoff from my first book. Recently I decided to get more familiar with my literary family out there. I'm like a child. I'm dying for friends and attention (smile). Perhaps I've found it here.
