Agents of Literary Change

First novel, so please be honest! I have a blog so my friends can read it, so here are the first three chapters and the synopsis. I'm having the book edited, but these chapters have a few typos. Thanks for input, and if you like it tell a friend and pass the blog around.

J.R.,
Overall the story sounds intriguing. As I read it, I wanted to know more (to unfold). I love the title. It seems like it has the makings of a film. I would need to read it more in depth to give you my deepest thoughts. You're taking care of editing, so that's not an issue. But your writing style is very smooth, succinct, and imaginative, and most of all highly intelligent (which is what literary undertakings should be about) unlike a lot of writing that's on the market today - but I won't go there. LOL.

Good job, girl.
Thanks for reading my blog, and I'm sorry that I took so long to respond. When i'm writing something i wan't it to flow like water, and i want my reader to be entertained without thinking. I have a short story on swashwords.com that you can download for free called Struggles of a marriage. It's nothing like this because I was tryiing to write something totally different and think outside the box...if you don't like it i understand...lol.

Do you have something you want me to read?

P.S. I never changed the picture,,,,,I'm a guy....lol
I noticed that you are writing in first person point of view, so since it is taking place in the 1800's and he is of southern nature I hoping that it would have that southern talk. The voice that you are giving you person should reflex his envornment. I know you know what I mean by southern language "Chile this cooken is sho nuff gool".
Thanks for the input, and thanks for reading my blog. While I was doing my research I discovered that most slaves didn't talk that bad especially ones that were educated such as Fredrick Douglass, and John Mercer Langston. Throughout the book you learn that John ( Reginald Williams in his later life) is very smart and his Master did take a special intrest in him while he was growing up. He is also writing these memoirs at 55, which is 36 years after he escaped. Slavery did suck, but a lot of slaves did have some form of education or vast knowledge of a trade because they did so much for their owners who would also loan them out to county officials or other people. Most people believe that slaves were dumb as rocks, (and i was one of them) but that wasn't the case. However, I do use some broken english when other slaves talk in the book. I put a lot of things in this novel that will probably surprise people, and change the way they look at slavery. Once again thanks for the input...and did you like chapter one.
Yes, I did and I like that it is told from a first person point of view, because now I am going to feel the thing he felt and his whole experience of what was going on during his time period.
