A Working Man

I need a working man, one willing to work beyond the hours of nine to five,
I need a man to work with me right by my side.

I clean house, raise children, and one can imagine the rest.
I then get myself prepared for a nine to five that's condescending,
giving it my best.

This man I have envisioned will share in these responsibilities
He would never think I am superwoman leaving it all on me.

What we could accomplish together, the heights that we would climb
This dream of working together should be as much his as it is mine.

When he begins to brag or boast about who we have become
I won't feel he thinks he's the "only" knowing what we both have done.

Most men who answer my question, telling the work they do
In turn commonly question me, "And what about you?"

The minute they ask this I know they won't fit the bill.
So that leaves me looking for a working man....still.

Acid Rain

I’ve had to learn simply lessons the hard way. What you see is not always what you get. I have myself to blame for this dismantled shit. How could my heart break when it wasn’t whole to start with? I took a risk and sacrificed a chance; all because it felt peaceful with the idea of having loved embrace me by the hand. I use to be so strong until I opened up and let love in. The weakness came when I realized that our conversations were some what of a game. Once again I’m torn into pieces. Force to fake a smile. You won’t see me cry because they have mastered hiding by disguise. All that left of me is everything I pretend to be, which is together but so broken up inside. This is more than pain. I forecast this storm to be a form of acid rain…

Dear Diary,

Where do I begin, what do I say,
Maybe if I list the things that ruined by day.
I made an observation that all concerned should know
Something that brought my emotions to an all time low.
There has been years in my career where motivation was on a decline.
But I really felt I could push my children forward where they couldn't look behind.

There are always the basics; Reading, Writing and Arithmetic.
But in today's schooling....
I find I must go further to see what makes the children tick.
Here's some of the problems little ones face.
I can't encourage them at all
You see they look at school as just another place.

They don't see the advantage of grasping what's beyond their reach
I become disheartened, because of them I need to teach.
They make my job a challenge and sometimes a brutal fight.
I manage to duck the blows and still have the ear for woes.
To my understanding that's the way things go.

I bend over backwards to see my poorest student receive.
And I cry when I find out it is time for him to graduate and leave.
Yes, Sheila is pregnant, just in the eighth grade.
With her intelligence I thought she had it made.

Gregory got picked up for petty theft.
Just in the sixth grade with no glowing future left.
Quiet Monique cried a lot today.
She said she hoped her father would forget about leaving her Mommy and stay.

Secruity found a crack vial lying on the bathroom floor.
The boy who had it was dying at the door.
Terrance was told he could be drafted by the NBA for basketball.
All they wanted to know was if he would stay that small.

They say don't tear the system down.
Be there to support their ways,
You see I can't stop supporting it.
That's why I hope to face better days.

Within we have planted the seed of generations,
The harvest of tomorrow, the crops of the future

Within we have nurtured the beginning of a nation,
The roots of our heritage, the backbone of a society

Within we have instilled morals and self respect,
With cultivated love and care, the motivation is the determination to be strong

Within we have showered with self esteem and positive guidance,
The foundation is now fertile, with ambitions and goals

Together with patience and understanding
We will receive the blessings,
For We Reap only what We sow.

Tap.. tap.. tapping is the sound that keeps ringing in my ear drums...
The sound of dreams began made...the clicking of truth unfolding...
Tap... tap tapping is the wishful thinking of an inspiring...
The clicking and the clacking of the focused driven soothsayers of light and passion....
The have nots and the has beens and the I want it allers are seperated by the tap, click and clacking of the keys as I punch them....

If Ever......

If ever I lost your love, I would lose my heart.
It is because of you I am motivated, able to start.

If ever I lost your love, I would lose my mind.
I would wander endlessly for the rest of my lifetime.

If ever I lost your love, I would lose my soul.
It is because of you that my live is complete, that I am whole.

Our love is a worth part of my living
A reason for giving my thanks to the Lord above.

For there would be no me,
If ever I lost your love.

I Saw What You Did
(from my first book "I Ain't Ascared of Nutin'... The Evolution of Me")

I saw what you did…

I saw you create jealousy, envy and greed.
I saw you destroy one of the world’s oldest civilizations.
I saw you implant that jealousy, envy and greed into the hearts of the innocent.

I saw what you did…

I saw you turn brother against brother, sister against sister and friend against friend.

I saw what you did…

I saw you break their hearts.
I saw you tell jealousy and envy to kill half of them and greed to kill the rest.

I saw them die…

I saw their blood on the sidewalks and the streets.
How could you do such an evil thing?
Sometimes I don’t believe… I saw what you did.

But I did… I saw you.
Yeah…

I saw what you did…

And it haunts me forever.

My Opinions On War

My Mission Was That I Was Wishing
I Made This Decision To Help Pay My Tuition

Your Mission Is For Me To Shoot Missles
And The Possibility Of Them Playing Taps With Horns That Whistle

The Oath, I Didn't Really Pay Attention
Standing At Attention, But They Didn't Mention

That My Decision To Be In The Service Is Not About Just School
With Their Marketing Gimmicks My Young People Are Being Fooled

Now The Target Marketing Of This Generation Has Reached A New Degree
Now They Are Blasting Music From Army Hummers With Wheels On Sprees

So The Focus Is On The Hopeless, And They Swarm Like Locust
Telling Them Lies Like They Told Me, The Whole Program Is Bogus

About The Type Of Job You Will Do, Son, Let Me Tell You
You Will Not Be In A Cool Building, You Will Be On An Infantry Crew

Or Squad Or Unit, You Can Call It Whatever
But My Child Going To The Military, Absolutely Not, Never!

Because I Did It For The Wrong Reasons, Not To Be A Patriot
Not Saying That I Don't Love This Country, But Senseless Wars I Am Not

I Am Not Into Killing For The Benefit Of A Crook
To Avenge The Previous War Against A Son Of A Bush

I Must Reiterate, I Love This Country Because It Is Mine As Well
But Believe Me You, The War In The Middle East Is Like Going To Hell

A Modern Day Vietnam, But We Are Not Dropping Bombs
We Are Basically Battling Them Fools Over The Teaching Of Islam

Or The Other Reason Could Be That We Covet That Oil
And We Will Never Leave That Land Until We Control That Soil

I'll Fight If It’s For A Cause That's Truly Legit
Because I Was Ready To Do Battle When Those Twin Towers Were Hit

But Even Though I Don't Agree With The War, I Must Respect The Position
Because It’s Hard For Any President From The Seat Where He Is Sitting

We Better Be More Prepared For Another Domestic Attack
Stop Worrying About Re-Building Countries Just Like Iraq

Terrorism Won't Stop, Let Me Just Make That Clear
Let's Worry About Our Infrastructure And The Problems That We Have Here

Like The Homeless, The Needy, The Young And Old
Instead Of Trying To Take Other Countries Under Our Control

I Believe We Should Only Worry About The Security Of Our Shores
That's My Theory, My Feelings, My Opinions On War

Black Hands and Wine

The potency of your soft, tender lips overcomes me like the sweet sensation of aged red wine,
Leaving me enchanted,
Floating like cradled autumn leaves--graced by the lullaby of a light and gentle breeze.
The moment we kissed,
My mind reminisced,
Resurfaced were the thoughts of cool waterfalls,
The taste of honey and deep rubies of passion and fire.
The smell of your perfume penetrated my senses like smooth flowing rivers.
Your hips boast the deep curves of a bouquet of roses,
Your cheekbones are like the curvaceous slopes of Roanoke,
None to compare to thee my love,
For you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Here’s a toast to the memories we’ve shared with each other,
Playful thoughts of whispering sweet nothings into each other’s ear.
Our hands and our hearts intertwined like healthy grape vines,
As we made a toast to love,
A toast to us,
You for me and me for you…forever we will always be.

Yep, the power of "facts" on the internet. Ain't it grand? People take forwards as gospel. Do you all also believe that Barack Obama shouldn't be president because he's not an American citizen? It' says he's not on the internet! I kinda wanted this…
