Summary of Vengeance Is Mines

The title of my debut novel is called Vengeance is Mines, The unfathomable voyage of passionate love to candid payback, which sums up the whole vibe of the book. The main character, Neisse finds herself searching for love on a Christian website, Romantic Baptism. On Romantic Baptism, she finds her soul mate but ironically it occurs on the same day she's diagnosed with cancer.Neisse lived with her aunt in a mansion called Abbey Sheer Manor nestled in the rocky mountains but moved with G'Andre six months into the relationship. She keeps her illness a secret from her family and friends, until she is forced to undergo chemo. While undergoing chemo, her aunt dies and she gets abused by her significant other. After three years in an abusive relationship, with the help of a friend that happens to be a male, she finally empowers herself to get out.

When G'Andre, Neisse's ex boyfriend returns from his 6 week visit with his twin daughters in Arkansas, he spots Neisse's platonic friend driving her car. G'Andre assumes her platonic friend is her friend with benefits. He realizes the relationship is over and that's when he unleashes the flood gates of hell upon Neisse. He takes revenge on her for breaking up with him by calling food stamps, HUD (Section 8) and Brenton University. She found herself being investigated by the city, federal government and the university. The university decided to give her several Fs, she became homeless and the following year expelled from Brenton University.

VENGEANCE IS MINES is about Neisse's will-power to fight back, when it seemed like a mudslide was right underneath her stilettos and world was against her. She twisted a bible verse and decided to pay him back by calling the Arkansas State Insurance Commissioner, his employer and the federal government. "Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay' says the Lord ( Romans 12:19). After a hard fought mêlée with the university she finds vindication by earning both her Master of Science in Marketing and Master of Arts in Theological Studies.

She gets on her feet and becomes employed as a spiritual counselor and a Marketing consultant making a high six figure salary and most importantly she survives her bout with ovarian cancer. Although she was single, she overcame PTSD, ADD, domestic violence, homelessness, expulsion and success awaited her in the west wing of her own Abbey-Sheer Manor. That goes to show you, no mortal man can keep a righteous sista down.
